Here's some shots PIXOMONDO completed from our full CG sequence for the Chinese feature Zhong Kui - Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal. The film was directed by Peter Pau and Tianyu Zhao.I served as overall VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer for the sequence with work being completed at PXO facilities in LA (Village shots), Stuttgart (Underwater shots) and Beijing. All shots are 2k stereoscopic and from start to finish we had 3.5 months for the project. We handled all tasks, from initial storyboards and previz all the way through to final output, with the exception of character design (Weta) and character asset dev (Macrograph). This was the only sequence PXO worked on in the film but it was a lot of fun to make :)Big thank you to the amazing teams in LAX and STR for their hard work, and a special thanks to Thilo Ewers, Tim Jones, Julia Neighly and Sebastian Meszmann for running their respective teams. Finally a huge credit to Peter Pau for being a fantastic and trusting client.The first half of the video is a few of the final shots out of a total load of 34 (~3mins worth of full CG) while the second half contains breakdowns of selected underwater shots. I might try to post some of the previz dev later so people can see how the project evolved in some more detail.More info:
