A preview video for C4DtoA, Solid Angle’s new bridging plugin between Cinema 4D and the Arnold renderer, recorded by Rasmus Brinkløv last year. The plugin has now been officially released.
Solid Angle has released C4DtoA, its plugin linking Cinema 4D and Arnold. Cinema 4D joins Maya, Softimage and Houdini as the latest DCC application to get native support for the VFX-industry-standard renderer. Supports “most features” of Cinema 4D, plus key third-party add-onsC4DtoA supports “most Cinema 4D features”, including instances, cloners, deformers, generators, MoGraph geometry, hair, and Thinking Particles. The display updates interactively in “virtually all” parts of the software. In addition, the plugin supports distributed rendering via Team Render, the network rendering system introduced in Cinema 4D R15. Key third-party dynamics plugins TurbulenceFD and X-Particles are also supported natively. According to Solid Angle, another unique feature in C4DtoA is a node-based material editor for “assembling arbitrarily complex shader networks following Arnold’s node-based approach”.
