Comparing Pixar’s RenderMan and SolidAngle’s Arnold Renderer in Maya.
Steve from Pixelbump did comparison of the new release of RenderMan and Arnold side by side to show what the strengths and benefits of each rendering engine. Tested seven different tasks that would be the most common for people on a daily basis: 1. High Poly HDRI Scenes
2. Studio Style Lighting
3. Sub Surface Scattering
4. Maya Fluids Smoke
5. Maya Fluids Explosion
6. FumeFX
7. Maya Particles And then showed how to set up the scene in the Pixar RIS & Reyes engines and the Arnold engine. Then compared the rendered outputs and talked about what steps could be taken to improve the render quality.
